Consultations

Basic Consultation

A basic consultation is a brief, 15-minute structured session designed to help you explore your mental health needs and determine whether our services are a good fit. You’ll have the opportunity to share your concerns, ask general questions about therapy, and receive professional impressions based on your goals. This service is not covered by insurance and does not include assessment, diagnosis, or treatment.

Comprehensive Consultation

A comprehensive consultation includes everything in a basic consultation, plus a structured mental health screening for trauma, depression, and anxiety. You’ll receive a personalized Screening Summary Report with an overview of your concerns, interpretation of assessment results, and professional treatment recommendations. This service is not covered by insurance and is not a substitute for a full diagnostic evaluation.

General Information About Our Services

At New Beginnings Christian Counseling, we offer traditional, evidence-based therapy services grounded in well-established psychological practices and clinical research. For clients who wish to incorporate their faith into the therapeutic process, we also offer the option to integrate biblical principles into treatment. This faith-based approach is available only to those who explicitly choose it during the intake process. Clients who do not opt in will receive therapy that is rooted solely in psychological theory and best practices, ensuring that care is always aligned with each individual’s values, preferences, and needs.

Therapy Services

At New Beginnings Christian Counseling, we provide therapy services for individuals 18 years and older, as well as couples counseling. Additionally, we require that individuals seeking services contact us directly, as we do not accept enrollment or appointments made on someone else’s behalf. Our goal is to ensure that those engaging in therapy are fully invested in the process from the outset.

Frequently Asked Questions

Our Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ) page provides clear and concise answers to the most common inquiries about our services, policies, and procedures. It is designed to help you quickly find important information and address any initial questions you may have. We encourage you to review the FAQ section as a helpful resource before reaching out, as it may provide immediate answers and guidance.

Using Insurance

In the insurance section, you’ll find general information about the insurance plans we accept. However, for specific details about your benefits and coverage, we recommend contacting your insurance provider directly. We won’t be able to answer questions about the specifics of your plan, so reaching out to them is the best way to understand what your insurance will cover before starting services with us.

What To Expect During Your First Visit

Your initial session at New Beginnings Christian Counseling will consist of a Clinical Interview, formally referred to as a Psychiatric Diagnostic Evaluation. This session is designed to help us gather what’s called a biopsychosocial history, which simply means we’ll explore key areas of your life—including your biological (physical health and medical history), psychological (emotional and mental health), and social (relationships, work, family, and support systems). This gives us a more complete picture of who you are and what may be contributing to your current challenges.

The clinician will also review the intake paperwork that was submitted to ensure everything is complete and accurate, addressing any missing or unclear information. If any initial assessments or screenings were completed, the clinician will go over the results and provide a professional interpretation of the implications for your current functioning. Practice policies, expectations, the structure of sessions, and financial obligations will be reviewed, including a discussion of billing procedures and your financial responsibility for services. The clinician will work collaboratively with you to develop a personalized treatment plan based on your individual goals and clinical needs. If you have any questions or concerns, this is the best time to bring them up so they can be addressed. This first session helps lay the foundation for a collaborative, supportive, and focused therapeutic relationship moving forward.
